50 people attended a stand against domestic violence in Queanbeyan in response to the death of Hannah Clarke and her three children.
Due to the number of deaths of women and children so far this year, 9 women and 5 children as of March 2020, the most prominent in the media being Hannah Clarke and her three children, the Queanbeyan Palerang Domestic Violence Interagency Group decided to hold a ‘stand against domestic violence’ on Thursday 5th March in Queanbeyan.
Some delegates then went on to Bungendore and Braidwood to continue the awareness raising event. The Queanbeyan event was held in the pouring rain and the event still attracted approximately 50 people including 4 police officers. Quite a few passers-by read our banners and many motorists beeped their horns in support.
